#46 – use a headlamp
A headlamp can be used anytime you’d use a flashlight, and it’s hands free! Use it when your power goes out. Use it camping. Use it to walk your dog or go for a run at night. Use it to change a light bulb in the basement.
#45 – be sexy
Own something you can wear that will make you feel sexy. It could be a nice suit, dress, underwear, shoes–anything! Everyone needs to have something they can dress up in (if only every once in a while!) and feel especially attractive.
#44 – try improv
Take a formal class, join a troupe, or try it with friends or family. It is difficult at first, but with practice you will find it gets your creative juices flowing, and helps increase your confidence.
#43 – learn to use chopsticks
Although it takes practice, everyone should learn to use chopsticks. Practice picking up Cheerios, raisins, chocolate chips, or other small foods if you are a newbie. Once you learn you will see it is fun (and helps slow down your eating!).
#42 – spend time alone
Everyone needs a little alone time. Whether you just steal a few minutes alone after a shower, or you have the luxury to take a solo vacation, cherish your time to be with yourself.
#41 – ride a roller coaster
Relive your childhood with a ride on a roller coaster. Whether a classic wooden coaster, or the latest thrill ride, raise your arms and get ready to scream and laugh in delight!
#40 – invest in index funds
Invest in index funds with the lowest fees you can find. Seriously. The biggest thing that will eat up your investment or retirement income is fees. Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund Admiral Shares (VTSAX) has fees that are only around 0.05% per year (very good!). Most mutual funds have fees in the 1-2% range (very bad!). Trust me. Your future self with thank you.
#39 – hammock
Get yourself a hammock. Set it up in your backyard. Set it up on your front porch. Set it up in the woods. Set it up at the park. Set it up by the river. Bring a book. Bring a radio. Take a nap. Enjoy your time in the hammock.
#38 – eat a baked potato
When it is cold, damp, or otherwise unwelcoming outside, make yourself a baked potato. Eating it will fill you up and warm your belly from the inside. There are endless toppings you can add on top: sour cream, butter, bacon, peas, cheese, tomatoes, black pepper, salsa, et cetera. They are especially good for breakfast with a fried egg on top.
